The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) organized the 9th edition of the Al Dhaid Date Festival, which got off to a lively start at Expo Al Dhaid on Thursday.
The annual event, which takes place from July 23 to 27, has attracted top date growers, palm farmers from all across the United Arab Emirates, representatives from 15 agricultural firms, as well as important stakeholders from the public and commercial sectors and home-based enterprises.
A wider range of contests are included in this year's edition, including well-known types like Khneizi, Khalas, and Shishi in addition to two elite categories: "General Al Dhaid Elite Dates" and "Special Al Dhaid Elite Dates," which are tailored to Northern Emirates farmers.
