AI-Powered scanners at Dubai Airport to streamline baggage checks

DXB is about to receive a significant boost in screening technology that will eliminate the need for passengers to remove their devices and liquids. Laptops and liquids could remain in bags with this new equipment being installed at the busiest international airport in the world for both hold and passenger baggage screening.

Terminals 1, 2, and 3 will soon get new, cutting-edge checkpoint scanners that has been accomplished through an agreement between Smiths Detection and Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects.

Advanced HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX Model-S computed tomography scanners, which can do high-resolution 3D imaging at security, will be installed at the busiest international airport in the world.

These sophisticated scanners can peek inside your carry-on luggage without you having to take out your phone, tablet, laptop, toothpaste, or liquids.

Currently in the trial stage, the new machines must pass testing before being rolled out more widely.
