The Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was present at the Al Ain Museum's reopening ceremony after a lengthy repair and renovation project that preserved the building's historical and cultural significance. The project brought in new buildings and exhibition spaces with cutting-edge interactive technology that met worldwide heritage museum standards.
Archaeological artifacts and important exhibitions highlight the customary practices and way of life of the area's earliest residents. The exhibits feature fishing gear, farming implements, and other artifacts that depict the everyday activities of earlier generations.
A trip through past civilizations is also offered by the museum's archeology halls, which showcase artifacts from old settlements that date back thousands of years, including pottery, iron arrowheads, and daggers found in the tombs of Jebel Hafeet and Qattara.
The museum's overall area increased from 1,200 square meters to 8,000 square meters during the major phases of the restoration and expansion project. The museum now has ten main galleries with cutting-edge interactive and visual exhibition technology after undergoing a renovation. A research center, conservation and restoration labs, interactive learning areas, a reading room, a café, a gift shop, and a temporary exhibitions hall are among the additional amenities for researchers and tourists.
It was announced last week by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism that the Al Ain Museum would reopen to the public on October 24. The museum's reopening comes after a thorough renovation that allowed it to expand to over 8,000 square meters while keeping the original structure as a focal point of the new architectural style.
