Dubai International Airport has launched an artificial intelligence-powered travel system that allows travelers to clear passport checkpoints in seconds. Now, airport officials intend to expand the 'Red Carpet' smart corridor at Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3, making the smart system available to both departing and arriving passengers in the near future.
The AI-powered technology, developed in partnership with Dubai Airports, allows passengers to go through passport control without having to submit any travel documentation. The smart corridor can accommodate up to ten passengers at once, and passengers at DXB can pass through passport control in as short as six to fourteen seconds.
According to the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDFRA), the new corridor is the first of its type in the world, integrating the strictest security standards with cutting-edge artificial intelligence and biometric identification technology.
Dubai International’s ‘Red Carpet’ AI system lets families pass together, cutting wait times, boosting capacity, and enhancing safety. Already at Terminal 3, it will soon cover both departures and arrivals.
