The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai is investigating quantum solutions for practical transportation problems such as traffic forecasting, self-driving car assistance, and public transportation optimization. The action is intended to improve digital security, boost smart mobility system performance, and hasten Dubai's shift to data-driven, sustainable infrastructure. It aims to improve smart mobility, digital protection, intelligent system performance, and overall data security by focusing on important industries including transportation, mobility systems, and smart infrastructure.
RTA is one of the first government organizations in the area to explore the possibilities of this cutting-edge technology in the transportation industry thanks to the program that focuses on quantum communication, computing, and cybersecurity. Adoption of these technologies is consistent with Dubai's ambition for smart city transformation and future preparation.
RTA partnered with world tech giant Cisco to host a specialized scientific symposium called "Quantum Communication and Its Applications in Smart Infrastructure" as part of the project. The meeting, which was attended by members from RTA's technical and engineering divisions as well as other attendees, brought together experts in quantum communication.
