Public art galleries, outdoor art galleries, and art installations will soon be located throughout the city as part of the plans of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
As part of an agreement between Dubai Municipality and Dubai Culture, the emirate would eventually be transformed into a "open-air global art gallery" thanks to the ambitious beautification plans.
The placement of artwork and installations will be determined by the two authorities in close collaboration.
The agreement states that Dubai Culture will be in charge of determining how many installations and artworks must be put into place each year within a predetermined window of time.
Selecting locations for art exhibits and working with public and private organizations to secure the required clearances and permits for carrying out public art initiatives will fall within the purview of the Dubai Municipality.
The beautifying initiative seeks to empower artists by increasing their visibility in the local art community in addition to exhibiting the city's artistic character and legacy.
The two governments' Memorandum of Understanding is in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan as a whole.
In addition to being a global center of culture and a vibrant magnet for talent, it seeks to further establish Dubai as a place to live, work, and play.
