Emaar Properties Station will be the world's tallest metro station standing at 74 metres

The Dubai Ruler, a visionary who has long been involved with the history of the Metro, once again selected the iconic number nine to lay the foundation stone for Emaar Properties, the first station of the new network, which is scheduled to open on September 9, 2029. Additionally, His Highness gave his approval to the unique architectural design of the 74-meter-tall Emaar Properties Station, the world's tallest metro station.

The famous American architectural company Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), one of the top design studios in the world, created the station based on the idea of a crossing gateway. Among the famous landmarks in the firm's portfolio are the Burj Khalifa, the Olympic Tower in New York, and the Sears Tower in Chicago.

The station represents the idea of "Dubai: A Gateway to the Future" and is made to blend in seamlessly with the current metropolitan landscape. The station, which occupies around 11,000 square meters, can handle up to 160,000 passengers daily, and by 2040, it is anticipated that daily usage will surpass 70,000. When the Blue Line project is finished, Dubai's rail system will include 168 trains and 78 stations, totaling 131 kilometers.

The station's imposing appearance blends nicely with the neighborhood's architectural style. During the day, a central doorway lets natural light pour down to the platform level, making the area airy and inviting. Sunlight highlights the station's classic elegance as it bounces off the stone surfaces. With a thoughtfully designed lighting scheme that highlights its architectural uniqueness and reinforces its function as a gateway to Dubai's bright future, it turns into a glowing beacon that directs travelers at night.

The interior design of the station is curated to create a sense of luxury. Towering walls rise elegantly, finished in natural textures and warm, earthy tones that strengthen the connection to the land, reflect the spirit of place, and embody the community’s resilience and cohesion. The overall architectural language creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all visitors.
