Set to launch in 2026, Etihad Rail’s passenger service will connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE, transporting up to 400 passengers at speeds of 200 km/h. By 2030, annual ridership is expected to reach 36.5 million. In a bid to enhance travel convenience, the UAE railway operator has partnered with United Trans and Citymapper, enabling passengers to plan seamless multimodal journeys that combine rail with metro, bus, on-demand transit, and micromobility options. Citymapper will provide real-time updates, route optimization, and fare transparency to improve efficiency and the overall travel experience.
Etihad Rail has also partnered with Yango Group to develop integrated first- and last-mile ride-hailing services, improving station accessibility and reducing congestion. The collaboration, announced at the Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition, includes operational alignment at stations, designated pick-up and drop-off areas, and peak-hour traffic management. In a later phase, passengers will be able to book complete rail journeys and rides through either the Yango or Etihad Rail apps.
Additionally, an agreement with Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) will deliver integrated transport services at Dubai stations, using DTC’s fleet of taxis, limousines, and buses. Through its partnership with Bolt, passengers can conveniently book rides via the Bolt app, while Etihad Rail ensures smooth station operations and efficient vehicle flow.
