Flydubai Updates Power Bank Guidelines from 1 October 2025

flydubai has released new travel guidelines effective from October 1, 2025, as part of enhanced safety measures on UAE airlines regarding portable batteries.

According to the airline, each passenger is permitted to carry only one power bank in their hand luggage, and it must not exceed 100 Wh, with the watt-hour rating clearly displayed on the device. Any power banks above this limit will not be allowed onboard.

The use of power banks, including those for charging via airplane power outlets, is strictly forbidden while in flight. Power banks must be stored in hand luggage only, either in the passenger's seat pocket in front of them or beneath the seat; they cannot be stowed in overhead lockers.

It is necessary to turn off power banks and safeguard them from unintentional activation or short circuits. It is advised by flydubai to keep them in a protective pouch or in their original packaging. Power banks are definitely forbidden in checked baggage.

Guidelines for power banks:

- One power bank per passenger in hand baggage only.

- Maximum capacity 100 Wh, clearly marked; over 100 Wh prohibited.

- Charging devices or the power bank onboard is not allowed.

- Store under the seat or in seat pocket; avoid overhead lockers.

- Must be switched off and protected from short circuits; use original packaging or a pouch.

- Not allowed in checked baggage.

- Applies to laptops, phones, e-cigarettes, cameras, and other lithium-powered devices.

- Contact Flydubai if unsure about an item.
