The Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station will have massive plans announced by Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) in partnership with Emaar Properties. By increasing the station's space by 65%, the ground-breaking project would increase its hourly passenger capacity from 7,250 to 12,320. The station will be able to handle up to 220,000 people every day once it is finished.
The plans are designed to meet the increasing demand for passengers particularly during New Year's Eve, public holidays, and significant events. There’ll be improved entrances and pedestrian bridges to make it easier to get in and out, bigger concourse and platform areas, more escalators and lifts, and separate gates for entry and exit to help things flow better.
Additionally, number of fare gates will be increased, enlarging retail areas, and enhancing links with other modes of transportation. The landscaping is also being updated.
