NCM forecasts rain in eastern regions as temperatures soar up to 49°C

Light rain was reported early this morning over Masafi in Ras Al Khaimah and Dibba Al Hisn in Sharjah by the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), as the UAE continues to experience unpredictable summer weather.

All day long, forecasters predict fair to partly overcast skies, with the possibility of convective cloud formation in eastern regions by the afternoon, which could result in further rainfall. The earlier warning of possible rains in eastern regions has been upheld by the NCM through Friday.

Due to slick roads after rain showers, drivers are advised to drive carefully.

The nation is preparing for intense heat, with temperatures inside expected to soar between 44°C and 49°C. Mountainous regions are predicted to see temperatures surge to 35°C to 40°C, while coastal and island regions will have highs between 40°C and 45°C.

Throughout the day, light to moderate winds will occasionally become more intense, carrying dust from the southeast to the northwest at 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts as high as 40 km/h.
