As the UAE experiences yet another day of intense heat, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather notice. Convective cloud development, especially in the eastern parts, is expected to cause rainfall through Saturday.
According to the NCM, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah experienced minor rainfall yesterday afternoon and early evening.
The prognosis for today predicts fair to partly cloudy skies with a chance of convective clouds forming by the afternoon, which could result in isolated rainstorms in the country's eastern regions.
The hottest temperature ever recorded yesterday was a sweltering 49.8°C at 1:45 p.m. at Saih Al Salam, Dubai, as per NCM.
Particularly during the day, light to moderate winds will periodically stir up dust and freshen the air. From southeast to northwest, wind speeds will vary from 10 to 25 km/h and can reach 40 km/h.
The Oman Sea and the Arabian Gulf will both have mild sea conditions.
Authorities encourage the people to take the appropriate precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours because rain is expected to persist till Saturday and the heat is still very high.
