The registration period for content creators to apply for an Advertiser Permit, which was first offered in July, has been extended, according to the UAE Media Council. Creators have until January 31, 2026, to register for the permit. The permit was originally supposed to go into force later this month.
The authorization is required for anyone who shares ads on websites, apps, or social media platforms, whether they are paid or not. This is a component of new rules designed to encourage professionalism, openness, and consumer protection in online advertising.
The permit can be renewed annually and is good for one year. It will be canceled if you don't renew it within 30 days of its expiration.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, while certain age groups may be exempt under certain restrictions and conditions. The activity license must be granted in the name of a legal guardian for anyone under the age of 18.
In order to receive an Advertiser Permit, residents and citizens must first obtain a trade license in electronic media from the appropriate authorities. An advertiser permit, however, can be obtained by visitors to the United Arab Emirates via a licensed agency that operates there.
