Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced plans to establish a 15-square-kilometre self-driving transport zone by 2026, covering Al Jaddaf Metro Station, Dubai Festival City, and Dubai Creek Harbour.
Designed as an integrated hub, the zone will feature multiple autonomous transport options, including the Dubai Metro, driverless buses, logistics and road-cleaning vehicles, delivery robots, and autonomous abras. Passengers will be able to select modes based on cost, speed, and convenience. In addition, robotaxis will be rolled out to the public in early 2026, with pilot trials of self-driving cabs starting later this year. T
The announcement, made during the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport, underscores the city’s push towards smart, sustainable mobility.
