His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the launch ceremony of the Dubai Museum of Art (DUMA), an ambitious project by the Al Futtaim Group that is poised to become a new cultural and architectural icon. During the event, Sheikh Mohammed viewed the museum’s striking designs created by acclaimed Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
The Al Futtaim Group will build the Dubai Museum of Art on Dubai Creek's waters. It will represent the emirate's burgeoning artistic and cultural momentum and exemplify Dubai's aim as a global center of the creative economy.
The museum's design combines contemporary architecture with the spirit of the region's long-standing culture. It offers a sensory experience that goes beyond the boundaries of physical space and highlights the essential characteristics of symbolic meaning, human-centered aspects, dynamic purpose, and significant attraction to artists and art enthusiasts.
