The UAE Government Media Office has announced Friday, August 28, 2026, as a paid public holiday for federal government and private-sector employees in observance of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (Mawlid Al Nabawi).
As the holiday falls on a Friday, employees who follow the standard Saturday-Sunday weekend will enjoy a three-day break from August 28 to 30. Work will resume on Monday, August 31.
