The UAE has announced a five-day Eid Al Adha holiday for government employees, running from Monday, May 25, to Friday, May 29, 2026. With the weekend included, public sector workers could enjoy a nine-day break, while employees in Sharjah may receive a 10-day holiday due to the emirate’s four-day workweek.
The moon-sighting committee will meet on May 17 to confirm the start of Dhul Hijjah and the official dates for Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha, which are currently expected to begin on May 26.
Eid Al Adha coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
