UAE expands the visa waiver programme for Indian nationals and their families

The UAE has expanded its visa-free policy to include Indian citizens and their families with valid passports. With effect from February 13 of this year, holders of Indian passports who possess valid visas, residency permits, or green cards from six other countries—in addition to the United States, European Union countries, and the United Kingdom—will be able to enter the United Arab Emirates under the new regulations.

Indian passport holders who currently have valid resident permits from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada will now also be eligible for this program, according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP).

Visitors can enter the UAE through the program without a prior visa.

As long as their passports are valid for at least six months and the necessary payments are paid, these persons will be granted entrance visas at all authorized entry points in the United Arab Emirates based on their arrival.

Indian nationals and their family members with ordinary passports who possess valid visas, residency permits, or green cards from the aforementioned nations can obtain a 14-day entrance visa for Dh100, according to ICP. The cost to extend the visa for an additional 14 days is Dh250. A Dh250 charge is also required to issue a 60-day visa.
