Dubai motorists will need to follow revised speed limits on five major roads from November 1. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will update road signs and reprogramme traffic cameras to match the new limits.
Dubai Police distinguishes between the posted speed limit and the radar activation threshold, which is the speed at which a camera records a violation. Although some roads have traditionally allowed a radar buffer of around 20km/h above the posted limit, drivers should always adhere to the speed displayed on road signs.
Speed Limit Changes on Five Dubai Roads
The revised limits will apply to specified sections of the following roads in both directions:
- Al Asayel Street: Increased from 60km/h to 80km/h.
- Al Mustaqbal Street: Increased from 60km/h to 70km/h.
- Latifa bint Hamdan Street: Increased from 60km/h to 70km/h.
- Al Rebat Street: Reduced from 100km/h to 90km/h.
- Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street: Reduced from 80km/h to 70km/h.
Motorists are advised to watch for updated road signs and observe the revised limits once they take effect.
