Delivery companies can voluntarily install the devices and connect their fleets to the platform until the end of June 2027. After this transition period, compliance will become compulsory.
The system will help authorities monitor delivery motorcycles more effectively while enabling companies to identify unsafe riding behaviour and prevent potential accidents.
The system will combine a smart digital platform, IoT-enabled devices and advanced cameras installed on delivery motorcycles to monitor riding behaviour.
Key features and benefits include:
- Tracking speed, acceleration, braking, driving patterns and routes.
- Providing real-time fleet information to delivery companies.
- Identifying risky riding habits and assessing rider performance.
- Improving rider training and road-safety awareness.
- Helping companies take early corrective action, improve delivery services and strengthen safety standards.
The voluntary phase will give delivery companies time to prepare their systems and connect their motorcycles to the platform, with the RTA providing technical and operational support.
The system will also create a central database to guide future regulations, strengthen monitoring and promote safer, more sustainable delivery practices. The initiative aims to improve operator accountability, ensure traffic-rule compliance and enhance road safety for riders and other road users.
