Etihad Rail passengers can now rent cars for Dh80–Dh200 per day at Abu Dhabi and Fujairah stations, with no security deposit, fuel included and 60km of mileage. The Rail to Road service offers flexible 24-hour rentals through Thrifty Car Rental.
There are three initial rental categories:
Essential: Hatchbacks and small sedans, including Toyota Yaris, Baleno and Hyundai Accent.
Comfort: Larger sedans and compact SUVs, such as Mazda CX-3, Hyundai Creta and Mazda 6.
Stretch: Premium and larger vehicles, including Audi A3, Nissan Patrol and Jeep Wrangler.
Walk-ins: No deposit or advance booking required; passengers can book online, at the station or as walk-ins.
The service is primarily designed around passengers collecting a car at their arrival station, using it for their onwards journey and returning it to the same station.
However, customers can customise their rental and return the vehicle at another Thrifty location.
