National Center of Meteorology issued an orange weather alert indicating unstable weather to continue across the UAE

Moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunders and lightning was what occurred in Dubai in the early hours of Monday. While major parts of Abu Dhabi had heavy rain and hail. The Al Dhafrah area, Al Wathba, Mohamed Bin Zayed City, and Sweihan in Al Ain all reported seeing hail between 3.36 and 5.15 in the morning, according to the Met office.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued an orange weather advisory, meaning that the UAE will continue to experience unpredictable weather. Most of the country will be covered in wet clouds tonight until 6 p.m.

"Convective clouds, associated with rainfall of different intensities with lightning, thunder, hail and strong winds over some internal and coastal areas, from 4am until 6pm on Monday, February 12," an advisory from the NCM stated.

As per the NCM, "an extension of an upper air depression, accompanied by a cold air mass, and a westerly air currents, with different amounts of clouds flowing over the country from the West," is the reason for this time of unpredictable weather.

"As a result of a gradual deepening of the upper air depression, the amount of clouds increase over separate areas," the prediction stated.

Rains on Monday in the UAE, led to cautions about online learning and remote work for both the public and private sectors. Government agencies and educational institutions will observe Monday, February 12, as a day of remote work and study, even though private businesses and educational institutions are free to choose this choice.

All federal government workers will have a remote work day on February 12th, according to a Sunday announcement from the UAE Cabinet. Those whose jobs need them to be physically present at work are not covered in the decision. It was announced on Saturday that all government employees in Dubai will work remotely on Monday, February 12. The decision originated from Dubai's Crown Prince and Executive Council Chairman, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Ministry of Education declared on Sunday, that starting on Monday, February 12, all federal institutes of higher learning will switch to remote instruction.

Due to the unpredictable weather on Monday, February 12, private schools, nurseries, and colleges in Dubai are advising their clients to be flexible with their policies about in-person student attendance and to use distance learning as a last resort. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai's education watchdog, sent a statement to this effect on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend.

Many safety recommendations have been issued by road and public service authorities throughout the seven emirates for drivers in rain-affected regions and citizens living in flood-prone areas.
