ADNOC Distribution has launched the world’s sixth-largest superfast electric vehicle (EV) charging hub and outlined plans to electrify the UAE’s highway network by the end of 2027.
Located at Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the new mega hub features 60 high-speed chargers capable of charging most EVs from 0 to 80 per cent in about 20 minutes. It is the largest EV charging facility in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, and the sixth largest globally.
Unveiled ahead of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the hub supports the emirate’s sustainability goals and growing EV adoption. ADNOC Distribution plans to roll out 20 EV charging hubs by 2027, with 15 expected by the end of 2026, covering key national highways.
The site is also the first commuter-focused “The Hub by ADNOC”, combining EV charging with conventional fuel services, retail, food and coworking spaces. It forms part of the E2GO network, which already has over 400 charging points across the UAE and targets up to 750 by 2028.
