Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi inaugurated Al Nasr Mosque in the Jabal Omar area of Sharjah, marking it as one of the emirate’s newest landmarks.
Covering more than 7,800 square metres, the mosque is defined by its 20-metre-wide glass dome, which rises 16 metres high and spans nearly 80 per cent of the roof. A 38-metre-tall, gently twisted minaret adds to its modern architectural style.
The mosque can accommodate 1,325 worshippers, including a 470-capacity main hall and a separate women’s prayer space for 145. It also features landscaped gardens, a fountain, library, ablution areas and parking, serving residents of Al Dhaid and nearby communities.
