Armenia formally opened its borders to nationals and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations on July 1, 2025, allowing visa-free entry for brief visits up to 90 days. The purpose of the visa exemption policy is to increase Armenia's attractiveness as a friendly and approachable South Caucasus tourism destination, especially for visitors from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
All passport holders from GCC nations are now exempt from the visa requirement for visits to Armenia for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, whether for business, pleasure, or tourism. Furthermore, as long as their residency permits are valid for at least six months after the date of admission into Armenia, anyone with valid resident permits from any of the GCC member states are also exempt. This clause increases access to a sizable portion of the Gulf region's expatriate population.
