Autonomous Robotaxi Service Now Available on Yas Island; users can hail through AutoGo app

Abu Dhabi has launched a new self-driving taxi service, marking a major step forward for autonomous transport in the UAE.

Baidu’s Apollo Go, in partnership with local company AutoGo, has rolled out a fully driverless ride-hailing service on Yas Island. Users can now book robotaxi rides through the AutoGo app and travel in vehicles operated entirely without a human driver.

The partnership was announced in March 2025 and received approval for commercial driverless operations in November 2025, with plans to expand the fleet to hundreds of vehicles by 2026. While the service currently covers Yas Island, future phases will extend to Reem Island, Al Maryah Island and Saadiyat Island, with wider coverage planned across Abu Dhabi.
