A unique Ramadan initiative in Dubai is encouraging children to collect stamps in special “passports” by attending prayers at mosques across the emirate. The Ayal Al-Freej programme has returned for its second year, expanding to more than 300 mosques under the Season of Wulfa, organised by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Affairs Department (IACAD).
Open to boys and girls aged 6 to 12, the initiative promotes prayer, discipline and community spirit by motivating children to attend Tharaweeh prayers daily. After each prayer, mosque imams stamp their passports, turning the experience into a fun and meaningful journey.
Passports have been available at participating mosques since February 14. A Ramadan-themed ice-cream truck will also visit selected mosques, with locations announced on IACAD’s social media channels. The programme forms part of the wider Season of Wulfa, overseen by Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, celebrating togetherness during Ramadan and beyond.
