Dubai authorities have unveiled a comprehensive traffic and transport plan for the New Year’s Eve celebrations at Burj Khalifa to ensure public safety and smooth movement on December 31, 2025.
Road closures will be rolled out in phases from 4pm, starting with Al Asayel Street, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and Burj Khalifa Street. Further closures include Al Sukook Street at 8pm, Upper Financial Centre Street at 9pm, and from 11pm, the gradual closure of Sheikh Zayed Road between Al Maidaan intersection and Commercial Centre roundabout. Lower Financial Centre Street and Al Mustaqbal Street will also be affected.
Entry to the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station will be suspended from 5pm, or earlier if capacity is reached. To meet high demand, the Red and Green Metro lines will operate continuously for 43 hours, from 5am on December 31 to 12am on January 2, while the Dubai Tram will also run non-stop for 43 hours, from 6am on December 31 to 1am on January 2.
Park-and-ride facilities will be available at Centrepoint, e& Station, National Paints (Jebel Ali) and Jumeirah Golf Estates. Pedestrian bridges and elevators over Dubai Creek will close from 4pm.
Alternative parking will be provided at Al Wasl Club and Al Kifaf, with free RTA shuttle buses. Early arrivals are encouraged to use Emaar area parking, which offers over 20,000 spaces. Parking and stopping will be prohibited on major surrounding roads.
After the fireworks, free shuttle buses will transport visitors to metro stations, taxi ranks and parking areas, with taxi pick-up points at Al Wasl Club and Al Kifaf. An early-exit shuttle service will operate between 4pm and 8pm from Swissôtel Al Murooj Dubai.
