Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan has approved a new digital, contactless check-in system for hotels. Guests only need to upload their ID and biometric data once, enabling seamless check-ins on future stays, with information stored securely until the ID expires.
Developed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the system removes the need to visit the front desk and lets travellers check in via mobile before arrival. Returning guests authenticate quickly through facial recognition.
Now available across hotels and holiday homes, the technology can also be integrated into existing apps and extended to other tourism services like car rentals.
