Dubai Municipality’s Ramadan Market, one of its flagship heritage initiatives, will open on January 17 as part of the Season of Wulfa and run until February 15 on Old Municipality Street in Al Ras Market, Deira.
Launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the market aims to strengthen family bonds and celebrate Emirati traditions. Aligned with the Season of Wulfa, it highlights local heritage, authentic Emirati values, and Dubai’s culture of tolerance and coexistence.
The market serves as a community-focused cultural platform that supports the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 by revitalising historic markets and enhancing quality of life. Set within a heritage environment, it blends traditional Ramadan preparations with cultural, recreational, and entertainment activities for families and visitors.
Featuring traditional shop owners, entrepreneurs, and the participation of People of Determination, the market promotes inclusivity and accessibility. The venue has been transformed into organised activity zones that combine contemporary design with the area’s historic character.
More than 10 restaurants offer Emirati and popular cuisines, alongside live performances, folk arts, children’s workshops, competitions, and mid-Sha’ban events. Visitors can also shop for Emirati heritage products and Ramadan essentials, including traditional clothing, dates, perfumes, spices, and local goods.
To enhance connectivity, Dubai Municipality will operate free abra services between Bur Dubai and Deira daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm throughout the market period.
