Dubai Police have issued a warning to residents about scammers posing as staff from a so-called “Dubai Crisis Management” department and falsely claiming ties to the police.
Authorities said the fraudsters are taking advantage of ongoing developments by calling individuals and asking for sensitive information such as UAE Pass login credentials and Emirates ID details. Sharing this data could enable criminals to carry out SIM swap fraud and access victims’ bank accounts through mobile banking apps.
Police emphasised that official entities never ask for confidential information, passwords or verification codes over phone calls or text messages.
Residents are advised not to disclose personal or financial details to unknown callers and to report any suspected scams through official channels by calling 901 or using the eCrime cybercrime reporting platform.
