Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of the Delivery Sector Excellence Award, an initiative designed to encourage healthy competition and raise quality and safety standards across the delivery industry.
The award will recognise top-performing companies and individuals who demonstrate excellence and commitment to high service standards. It will be presented across four categories:
- Best Partner
- Best Delivery Company via Smart Platforms and Apps
- Best Delivery Company
- Best Delivery Rider
According to the RTA, the initiative aims to honour outstanding delivery companies and riders while promoting professionalism and service excellence within the sector.
The announcement also follows the introduction of new traffic regulations in 2025, which prohibit delivery riders from using high-speed lanes on Dubai roads. Under the rules, delivery bikes are not allowed in the two leftmost lanes on roads with five or more lanes, or the leftmost lane on roads with three or four lanes. On two-lane roads or smaller, riders may use either lane.
Delivery riders have welcomed the regulation as a positive step toward improved safety. The RTA confirmed that riders who comply with these rules will be eligible for recognition under the new award scheme.
