Dubai set to introduce electric air taxi rides through Uber

Dubai residents may soon be able to book electric air taxis directly through the Uber app, with aerial rides appearing alongside regular transport options.

Through a new service called Uber Air, users can enter their destination and, if eligible, select an air taxi option. The app will seamlessly arrange the full journey — including a premium car transfer, the flight, and the final drop-off.

The all-electric aircraft can carry up to four passengers and is flown by a certified commercial pilot. It features spacious seating and large windows, offering panoramic city views. Equipped with six tilting propellers, it takes off vertically before transitioning into forward flight, reaching speeds of up to 200mph with a range of 100 miles per charge.

Passenger flights are expected to begin in Dubai later this year, marking a major step toward advanced urban mobility.
