The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has introduced Flexi Rent, a new initiative designed to make renting more convenient and financially manageable for residents across the emirate.
Under the programme, tenants leasing properties through participating real estate companies can opt for monthly, quarterly, or annual payment plans, reducing the burden of large upfront rental payments.
Khalid Al Shaibani, Director of the Rental Affairs Department at DLD, said the initiative aims to ease financial pressures on residents while enhancing their overall quality of life and long-term stability within the community.
The scheme currently includes 12 Dubai-based developers, with plans to potentially expand participation in the future.
According to Khalid Al Shaibani, tenants may benefit from several flexible rental options under the Flexi Rent programme, including:
- Flexible instalment plans tailored to individual needs
- Grace periods before payments begin
- Redesigned payment schedules agreed upon by both parties
- Waiver of annual rent increases in certain eligible cases
Additional details of the programme include:
- Participation is subject to agreements between tenants and participating real estate companies on a case-by-case basis.
- Rental payments can be made through credit cards, debit cards, or cheques.
- Tenants who had previously agreed to pay rent using four cheques will have the standard fee waived under the initiative.
