Emirates has been named the world’s best airline for inflight entertainment at the 2026 World Airline Awards and ranked second among the world’s most family-friendly airlines, according to Skytrax.
The Dubai-based carrier topped the category ahead of Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic, thanks to its ice entertainment system offering thousands of movies, TV shows and music channels.
Emirates offers up to 6,500 channels of movies, TV shows, music and games in multiple languages, along with live weather, news, sports and flight information. Selected flights also feature free Starlink Wi-Fi for streaming, video calls, gaming, work and browsing.
The airline ranked second among the world’s most family-friendly carriers, behind EVA Air, with family-focused services including priority boarding, spacious seating and dedicated meals and entertainment for children.
Emirates also secured second place for Best Premium Economy Class Airline and fourth for Best First Class Airline, placing it among the world’s top performers in premium travel.
Emirates ranked sixth among the world’s top 20 airlines, while Singapore Airlines topped the list, followed by Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific.
The annual World Airline Awards are based on a global customer survey conducted from September 2025 to August 2026, covering more than 300 airlines and travellers from over 100 nationalities.
