
Emirates, announced in a statement on Wednesday that it has reached an initial agreement with Crypto.com that would enable its clients to use the payment service of the cryptocurrency trading platform.
"Younger, tech-savvy customer segments who prefer digital currencies" are the target of the cooperation, which is anticipated to take effect next year, according to a statement from Adnan Kazim, the deputy president and chief commercial officer of Emirates.
More than 650 cryptocurrency companies are based in the DMCC, one of Dubai's main free zones, which established watchdog VARA in 2022 to oversee the nascent virtual asset industry.
