Emirates to introduce new ‘U-Dream’ headrests for more comfortable long-haul flights

Emirates is set to boost passenger comfort with its new U-Dream Headrest, which will be introduced on all Airbus A350 aircraft and most Airbus A380 and Boeing 777s.

The adjustable headrest is designed to provide enhanced neck and head support, making it easier for passengers to relax and sleep comfortably on long-haul flights.

The U-Dream Headrest is an ergonomic upgrade to Safran Seats' Z400 economy seat, featuring padded, foldable side wings that support the head and neck and help keep passengers comfortable while sleeping. It can also be adjusted vertically and tilted to suit different seating positions.

The new headrest is expected to enhance the economy-class experience by providing ergonomic support typically found in premium cabins.

The new headrest is part of Emirates' ongoing economy-class upgrades, which also include the rollout of complimentary high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet. Together with ergonomic seats, generous legroom, mood lighting and personal entertainment screens, it is designed to make long-haul journeys more comfortable.

All Emirates A350 aircraft will feature the U-Dream Headrest by the end of 2026. It will also come standard on all Boeing 777X aircraft on order, with retrofitting of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s beginning in 2027.
