Georgia will require all tourists to carry valid health and accident insurance from January 1, 2026. The policy, issued by a local or international provider, must be in Georgian or English and offer minimum coverage of 30,000 Georgian Lari (about Dh41,000).
According to Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the insurance policy must include:
Parties to the insurance contract
Covered territory
Subject of the insurance
Start and end dates of coverage
Insured risks
Insurance coverage amount
Insurance premium amount and payment terms
The policy must remain valid for the full duration of the stay, including arrival and departure dates.
Diplomats and freight drivers are exempt from this mandatory insurance requirement.
