Visitors and residents are returning to Jebel Jais, lured by its cooler climate and breathtaking mountain scenery, as the UAE’s highest peak reopens after a temporary shutdown.
During a Khaleej Times visit on Monday, February 2, the area was noticeably calm and quieter than usual for this time of year. The destination had remained closed for several weeks due to severe weather conditions and a significant rockslide.
Access is now open, with visitors able to purchase a Viewing Deck Park ticket for Dh10 at the security entrance. Those with valid reservations, including the Dh10 viewing deck pass, are allowed to proceed beyond security checkpoints, subject to road conditions and capacity limits.
