Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a major revamp of its inner-city bus network, set to begin this week.
The update includes four new routes launching on Friday, January 9—mainly benefiting residents of Al Satwa and Al Wasl—along with improvements to more than 70 existing routes, covering changes to schedules, frequencies, stops, and peak-hour alignments.
Four new inner-city bus routes
To improve efficiency on busy corridors, the following peak-hour routes will be introduced:
Route 88A: One-way service from Al Satwa Bus Station to Jumeirah 3 during morning peak hours, supporting Route 88
Route 88B: One-way service from Jumeirah 3 to Al Satwa Bus Station during evening peak hours, supporting Route 88
Route 93A (morning): One-way service from Al Satwa Bus Station to Al Wasl during morning peak hours, supporting Route 93
Route 93A (evening): One-way service from Al Wasl to Al Satwa Bus Station during evening peak hours, supporting Route 93
Enhancements to 70+ existing bus routes
From January 9, more than 70 bus routes will undergo updates. Most adjustments involve revised running times, timetable changes, stop additions or removals, and minor route realignments.
The RTA says these changes aim to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and enhance overall passenger experience across Dubai’s bus network.
