Jubail Island has been transformed into a glowing open-air art space as Manar Abu Dhabi welcomed visitors on Friday. Sand trails, mangroves, and wide-open areas are illuminated by 22 installations crafted from lasers, mirrors, steel, glass, and fibre optics — turning the natural surroundings into a stunning temporary gallery.
Now in its second edition, the public light art exhibition by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) features 15 artists from 10 countries, including several Emirati creatives. This year’s theme, “The Light Compass,” explores how light interacts with the landscape and movement, with artworks displayed across Jubail Island as well as key cultural locations in Al Ain.
Manar Abu Dhabi is open to the public free of charge and will continue welcoming visitors until January 4, 2026.
