Ministry of Interior sets rules for vehicle celebrations on UAE’s 54th Union Day

The UAE Ministry of Interior has issued detailed guidelines for celebrating the 54th Union Day, highlighting safety, responsible behaviour, and legal compliance. Authorities warned that violations could result in fines and vehicle impoundment. Only two practices are officially allowed: displaying Union Day stickers and flying the UAE national flag.

Prohibited actions include:

Unorganised parades and random gatherings

Blocking or disrupting traffic

Performing stunt driving or dangerous manoeuvres

Leaning out of windows or sunroofs

Overloading the vehicle beyond approved limits

Covering windscreens or licence plates

Using loudspeakers, sirens, or horns inappropriately

Displaying non-official posters or banners

Raising flags of countries other than the UAE

Wearing head masks or costumes while driving

Playing loud music outside designated celebration areas

The ministry stressed these rules ensure road safety and orderly celebrations. Residents are urged to celebrate responsibly, cooperate with traffic officers, and comply with regulations, upholding respect and responsibility during national festivities.
