The UAE Ministry of Interior has issued detailed guidelines for celebrating the 54th Union Day, highlighting safety, responsible behaviour, and legal compliance. Authorities warned that violations could result in fines and vehicle impoundment. Only two practices are officially allowed: displaying Union Day stickers and flying the UAE national flag.
Prohibited actions include:
Unorganised parades and random gatherings
Blocking or disrupting traffic
Performing stunt driving or dangerous manoeuvres
Leaning out of windows or sunroofs
Overloading the vehicle beyond approved limits
Covering windscreens or licence plates
Using loudspeakers, sirens, or horns inappropriately
Displaying non-official posters or banners
Raising flags of countries other than the UAE
Wearing head masks or costumes while driving
Playing loud music outside designated celebration areas
The ministry stressed these rules ensure road safety and orderly celebrations. Residents are urged to celebrate responsibly, cooperate with traffic officers, and comply with regulations, upholding respect and responsibility during national festivities.
