Partly cloudy skies and unstable weather to continue across the UAE until Friday

The UAE will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Thursday, December 18, with convective clouds forming in some areas. Unstable weather will bring rain of varying intensity, along with thunder, lightning and hail in isolated locations, and is expected to continue into Friday, December 19, 2025.

Moderate to fresh winds are expected, at times strengthening near clouds and causing blowing dust, sand and reduced visibility. Temperatures will range from 19°C–28°C in Abu Dhabi, 19°C–27°C in Dubai and 18°C–27°C in Sharjah, with lows of up to 9°C in northern areas.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are expected to be rough to very rough as storms move in from the west. The NCM has issued alerts for rough seas and hail, urging the public to follow safety advisories.

Unsettled conditions stem from a low-pressure system over the Middle East that has already caused heavy rain. Weather is set to intensify on Thursday, with thunderstorms moving from Saudi Arabia towards the UAE and Qatar overnight.

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, stay indoors when possible, and adhere to official guidance and safety instructions.
