Dubai is preparing for one of its busiest New Year’s Eve celebrations, with more than 2.7 million passengers expected to use public transport across the city. To manage the surge, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has implemented a comprehensive mobility plan covering road closures, parking, taxis and public transport around the Burj Khalifa area. Fireworks visitors can access taxis from designated zones at Al Wasl Club and Al Kifaf, both connected to the venue by free shuttle bus services after the celebrations. Public buses will also operate to nearby metro stations.
Motorists are advised to arrive early and use parking in the Emaar district, including Dubai Mall, Zabeel–Dubai Mall, Fountain View extensions and Boulevard Lower parking. Parking and stopping will be prohibited on major surrounding roads, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Dubai–Al Ain Road and Oud Metha Road.
Visitors from outside central areas can use park-and-ride facilities with around 20,000 spaces. Public transport will carry most attendees, supported by 1,300 buses, 14,000 taxis, 18,000 limousine vehicles, and 64 metro and tram stations. Authorities strongly encourage the use of the Dubai Metro, Tram and bus network.
