The Dubai Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has released an urgent advisory alerting the public to a rise in scam calls where criminals pose as government officials to obtain personal and financial details.
The warning follows multiple reports from residents who received automated or live calls claiming to be from legitimate authorities. In a widely shared awareness video, TDRA showcased an actual example of a cloned voice replicating an official, highlighting how convincingly scammers attempt to trick individuals into revealing sensitive information.
The public is advised to disconnect right away, block suspicious numbers, and refrain from interacting with unfamiliar callers. TDRA stressed the importance of staying alert, safeguarding personal information, and trusting only confirmed official sources for any communication.
