Technical testing centres will require bookings for vehicle inspections via RTA app or website

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Tuesday that all 27 technical testing centers in Dubai will require reservations for vehicle inspections via the RTA Dubai smart app or website (www.rta.ae) beginning on June 2. The goal of this technique is to reduce traffic at inspection centers.

The only location that does not require an appointment is Tasjeel Hatta. Customers who would prefer to attend without an appointment can still do so by walk-in, but there will be a Dh100 service charge.

Making an appointment can help cut wait times by about 40%, according to RTA. Additionally, occupancy rates will increase, especially at centers where utilization has previously above 80%.

All customer and vehicle categories at technical testing centers must use the appointment booking system, with the exception of cars registered in Dubai and owned by citizens and residents who are People of Determination or elders.

As part of RTA's commitment to providing accessible and inclusive service delivery for these two important customer categories, these individuals are allowed to avoid the booking need for vehicle inspection services.
