Abu Dhabi will welcome a new indoor attraction this week with the opening of The Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi on January 9 at Al Qana.
The climate-controlled sanctuary will house more than 10,000 butterflies across immersive biodomes inspired by Asian and American landscapes, complete with lush planting and koi ponds. Visitors can enjoy a walk-through experience and also see tropical animals such as a two-toed sloth, Palawan bearcat, tamandua, Sri Lankan giant squirrel and Cuvier’s dwarf caiman, along with various bird species.
Located near the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and opposite The National Aquarium, the gardens will be open daily, with tickets priced at Dh55. A combined ticket with The National Aquarium will be available for Dh150. Being fully indoors, the attraction will operate year-round, including during the summer months.
