Three airlines from the UAE have secured places among the world’s five safest carriers.
In AirlineRatings’ 2026 global safety rankings, Etihad Airways claimed the top position worldwide. It was followed by Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Qatar Airways and Emirates, with Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, EVA Air, Virgin Australia and Korean Air completing the top 10. The assessment evaluated 25 full-service airlines along with leading budget carriers in each category. UAE airlines’ strong performance reflects their multi-billion-dollar investments in modern, fuel-efficient fleets, which have strengthened safety standards while delivering high-quality service.
