The UAE government has announced a four-day Eid Al Fitr holiday for private sector employees.
According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre), the break will run from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21. If Ramadan lasts 30 days, the holiday will be extended to Sunday, March 22, 2026, which is part of the official weekend.
The exact date of Eid depends on the sighting of the Shawwal crescent. The UAE’s moon-sighting committee will meet on March 18. If the moon is sighted that evening, Eid will begin the next day. If not, Ramadan will complete 30 days and Eid Al Fitr will start on March 20, in line with the Islamic lunar calendar.
