The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in the United Arab Emirates has announced a ban on all drones and light sports aircraft across the country due to the current circumstances.
The authority said the decision is mandatory and warned that anyone who violates the ban could face legal action. It also urged the public to cooperate, stressing that adherence to the rules is essential to ensure safety and security.
Earlier, on March 1, the GCAA had suspended flight permits for gliders, drones and hobby aircraft for one week as part of precautionary measures to strengthen safety and protect the country’s airspace. During the suspension period, operating these aircraft within UAE airspace was strictly prohibited.
